Rancon Group’s 15-acre Heritage Square Shopping Center leads an ambitious list of commercial projects for Menifee and other expanding communities. The City of Menifee has been a cooperative partner in preparing for the vital new retail shopping center planned for the busy intersection of McCall Boulevard and Menifee Road.
Plans include more than 133,500 square feet of retail space, including a 43,830 square foot supermarket pad. Following its 2007 county approval, Heritage Square, at the northwest corner of McCall Boulevard and Menifee Road, had a list of well-known prospective tenants, but was put on hold during the economic recession.
Over the past few months, Rancon’s team has been working closely with Menifee elected leaders and staff to create a development agreement preserving current entitlements and enabling Heritage Square to move forward. “Mayor Scott Mann and City Council Member John Denver in particular have been very supportive of our project and both have been instrumental in getting the ball rolling,” said Jeff Comerchero, President and CEO of the Rancon Group.
The Rancon Group also worked closely with the city on the “Missing Link” project, a $5 million improvement to Menifee Road. Filling in Menifee Road between Simpson and Aldergate and creating an unbroken north-south corridor east of Interstate 215 makes the Heritage Square retail project feasible. “Without Council Member Denver’s help and support it is doubtful we would have gotten to this point in the development process,” Comerchero said.
