Temecula & Murrieta Listed as Top 10 Safest Cities in America

According to the FBI’s Preliminary Annual Uniform Crime Report released in May of this year, violent crime across the nation is down for the fifth year in a row. Most interesting to us is that five of the “safest small cities in America,” as listed on the Business Insider Website, are in Southern California. And, in fact, the cities of Temecula and Murrieta are ranked #2 and #4 on the list. In case you’re interested here’s the list:

1. Irvine, CA
2. Temecula, CA
3. Cary, N.C.
4. Murrieta, CA
5. Gilbert, AZ
6. Round Rock, TX
7. Frisco, TX
8. Simi Valley, CA
9. Bellevue, WA
10. Orange, CA

The fact that Temecula and Murrieta are among the safest cities in the nation is not a surprise to us. For 40 years, Rancon has concentrated its efforts on Southern California with specific involvement in Southwest Riverside County. Why? Because, it’s always been a great place to live.

And, of course, from a business perspective Southwest Riverside County snuggles up to Orange County to the west and San Diego County to the south, which puts it right in the natural path of growth as these two major areas grow together.

For as long as any of us can remember, people and businesses have looked for affordable homes and affordable rent or land to expand their businesses. That ‘s why the San Fernando Valley and Orange County grew as Los Angeles expanded to the north and south; and that is why Southwest Riverside County has been, and will continue to be, a major growth area in Southern California.

But it’s not just the geographic positioning and affordability that attract new residents to Southwest Riverside County.  They come because it’s an area that supports an active Southern California quality of life, i.e. clean air, Wine Country, open space, master planned communities and of course a safe place to live and work. Temecula and Murrieta are in the heart of Southwest Riverside County and being #2 and #4 as the safest cities in the United States is an impressive statistic.

We control more than 2,000 single family lots in multiple locations within this great area. If you’d like to know more about our Rancon Group investment opportunities, or about specific tracts in targeted areas, just give me or one of my associates—Darryl Stephenson, Jim Lytle--a call.

As a Police Officer, I moved to Murrieta from the Los Angeles area in 1986 to start and raise a family in a clean, open, safe environment. It’s twenty five years later, the kids are grown, though college and I recently retired from the Murrieta Police Department as one of the original Officers who were hired when the city threw the switch for the 1st time back in 1992. We’ve all seen some pretty big changes here in the valley over the years and it’s interesting to see that Murrieta P.D. and Temecula P.D. are consistantly near the top of the list of safest cities year after year. Believe me when I say the Departments and Officers are very aware and proud of that. We all live here with you, this is our city.

    Happy Holidays!
